Help Modelling Waffer cookie

Post by kilmyneo »

Hello,

I am trying to modelling a Waffer cookie but i can´t get a good result.

I also tried to use vray displacement material, but if i use this, i get up, down and side deformations which is not what i was looking for...if i only could get upper deformation it would be great.

And finally i tried to use a plane material with many polygons, select them and use bevel, then i used select invert and extrude them, but the result was square form and not triangle.

Thanks in advance for any help!.

I really appreciate.

Hi!, I think that the displacement is a good way to get a good results but not with material (vray or c4d).
You should be able to get this kind of material by using the displacer deformer (blue icons on the tool bar) by apply it on a plane object with many segments.

This kind of way could be help you because when the results is good you can "current state to object" and convert it into a poly object, than you can estrude down all poligons and make it solid before the chocolate cream...
When you try to extrude all, go into the poly tool and move tool and select all polygons with (ctrl + a) and drag down the Y axis with CTRL pressed, don't use the extrude tools because you have curved poly and errors could be occurs..

alex

ps: the sculpt should be another good way but you need a little bit experience with it

very good! did you verified that the shape is good for you? rectangular or square shape...anyway, now hit "current state to object" (you can find it on object menu on object manager window) and the new object is now poligon converted (delete the old one or hide it)...than select all poligons and with the move tool, pull down them with CTRL pressed...use the Y axis
Cinema4D will extrude them into mono direction...it's a tips for modeling :)

great!, i get stuck in pulling down the polygons.

1- select all polygons ( Not vertex ) CMD A
2- press CTRL and pull down Y Axis.

When i did this, it pull down all the shape as one.

Maybe i am doing something wrong.

sorry, I'm wrong to describe you the tips, when you pull polygons pull up and not down... if you pull down them the object stay empty...

Do you mean the "cutted" border? I painted it with a red color
Could you attach a picture about the actual results of your mesh? near the border?
