Problem importing OBJ sequence into C4D

Postby splette » Tue May 30, 2017 10:01 pm

I generated an Wavefront OBJ sequence with Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD, http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd). I can import the individual OBJ files into Cinema4D without problems. Because I have a sequence of hundreds of them, I bought the OBJ sequence importer plugin but it doesn't let me import the files. I get an error in the console "Check your mesh format".

Here's one of my OBJ files to download:

I was expecting that if Cinema4D can read the OBJ, so would the plugin but apparently not?

Hi splette
I'm sorry but the obj format you are trying to import is not supported by ObjSequenceImporter.
As we wrote on the plugin description objsequenceimporter is dedicated to work with blender.

Wavefront format should be a standard but a lot of 3d software write its "own" wavefront obj format.

Because of this we decided only to adopt the blender export and a few variants.

Sorry
