X-Ray Look

Messaggio da mrksschmdt »

Hello,

I would like to rebuild the x-ray view (preview file attached).

I've already tried to use half-transparent materials with blue colors, but I did not get it right.
Do I have to choose some special render settings? Which material would be best?

Thank you!!

hi! welcome aboard..
This kind of effects needs more time of a simple 50% transparent settings.
First one: the illumination...the scene need to be rendered with a good light source as HDRI and a direct light, I see a sun behind the building so the scene has been illuminated first without transparent materials.

Second tip: ok for the 50% of transparent into the material but I think there are some object as floors or walls with different settings. Not all abject has been dissolved with the same percentage.

The rendering seems to have AO into the material because some object needs some more shadows than others otherwise all objects appears to be flattened with others...

Could you show us an image of your results?

Thanks, masterzone. Great feedback.
Maybe I will also combine your suggestion with the Visibililty-Tag and a Fresnel shader... When there is sth to show, I'll share it.

Thanks!

yes! try the fresnel into the transparency channel so you can get a better X-ray effects on rounded surface...
I look forward to see your progress :)
