Cinema4D 2027 is here!
20 October 2026
Maxon has officially released Cinema 4D 2027, kicking off its new autumn release for the popular 3D suite used in motion graphics, visualization, and VFX. This update brings a set of practical features designed to speed up complex environment creation, enhance procedural workflows, and integrate cutting-edge AI-assisted tech.
Native Scatter System Has Arrived
For a long time, populating dense environments like forests, landscapes, or detailed cities in Cinema 4D required third-party plugins or complex MoGraph setups. With Cinema 4D 2027, Maxon introduces the Scatter Generator and Scatter Tag.
This new procedural system allows artists to scatter millions of instances across surfaces while maintaining complete artistic control. Thanks to overlap removal algorithms and versatile distribution modes (UV Grid, Area Weighted, Spline Projection), creating realistic ecosystems is simpler than ever—all while staying fully compatible with the MoGraph ecosystem for post-scatter variation and animation.
Simulazioni più ricche con Liquid FX
Richer Simulations with Liquid FX
Building on the unified simulation engine introduced in recent releases, version 2027 pushes fluid simulation further with Liquid FX.
This feature enables the generation of high-frequency foam, spray, and air bubbles on top of existing liquid simulations. The primary advantage is performance: instead of drastically raising the resolution of the base fluid simulation (which heavily impacts compute times), artists can add these rich secondary details procedurally and efficiently.
Scene Nodes and AI Integration via MCP
The Scene Nodes system continues to evolve with the addition of Nodes Field and Nodes Effector. Users can now build custom MoGraph fields and behaviors completely through visual nodes, removing the need for custom Python scripts.
However, the standout highlight of this release is native support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). By enabling this communication bridge, compatible AI assistants can interact directly with Cinema 4D’s procedural tools—helping artists automate repetitive tasks or build complex scene setups via text prompts.
Workflow, Tag Grouping, and Redshift 2027
The release is rounded out by several quality-of-life enhancements across the application:
Tag Grouping & Preview: The Object Manager now supports visual tag grouping. Additionally, tag contents (such as point selections, vertex maps, or weight maps) can now be previewed directly in the viewport before committing or baking procedural objects.
Autograph Pipeline: Direct Copy/Paste support from C4D to Autograph compositing software allows seamless transfer of animated cameras, lights, and text in a few clicks.
Redshift 2027: The integrated renderer adds a procedural Redshift Fur node (ideal for carpets, fabrics, and fur) alongside improved real-time feedback in Redshift Live.
Great renderings to all!
