Polygon Mesh Artifacts fix C4D

Post by Mayyar »

Hi

Is there any way to make this looks smooth? I'm pretty new to C4D and I tried to smooth it, Subdivide surface, and changing the Phong angle but it seems to make it worse

Hi! this happen due to a mesh topology of the object (Marvelous designer right?). This kind of artefacts are made by distorted triangles or quadrangles and can be bypassed using the Subdivision Surfaces that smooth and curve all polygons of the object. The Phong tag works around 70-80 degree but if you go more than 90 degrees the objects doesn't looks better than before so you can put it back to 45 or 80 degree.
Try to change the topology on Marvelous or from the software used for make it by using the quadrangles techniques because the object looks better into the subdivision surfaces :)
