Mesh Poly Count Different

Using Cinema 4D S22, I create a simple Cube primitive, and hit CTRL+i, and the info box shows me having only 6 polygons.

I save the Cube to the Desktop in Windows 10 as an FBX, and then bring up the Cube using the built in program, 3D Viewer, and 3D Viewer reports that there are 12.

Why is there a discrepancy?

Because during the export quadrangle meshes must be exported to triangle meshes, the results is 1 quadrangle poly = 2 triangle polys :)
