Re: Modelling issue, sweep settings

Thanks for replying, but that was one of the settings i dismissed because:

1- it messed up the bottom and i wanted to see if could achieve it without resorting to a boole

2- it makes it lose the crease i liked in the pointless version

Modelling issue, sweep settings

Hi, i'm making a 3d version of a logo and i'm going for a round metal style. this is the 2D logo: logobw.png my plan was to use sweeps, so i plotted lines in the middle of the original ones and created this shape using these settings: shape.png sweep settings.png this result is pretty much the one i...

Re: Snap Question

ok, i imagined i was asking something impossible, but i wanted to check. i'll see if there is a mathematical way to solve this as neatly as possible. maybe i'll just use character rigging, i could end up with something better that i envisioned first.

Tante grazie!

Snap Question

Hi, so far i know that if snapping is activated and the move tool is selected, when i click on an empty space, I can have the selected object stuck to the cursor by its axis, ready to be dropped to a snap, like a vertex or an edge. that way, if I align its axis to a vertex, i can align an object to ...

Python - Feed text into Motext

Hi, I need to have a Motext cycle a list of words, kind of like keyframing the "text" box, but in a more code-y way, so i can tinker with the timings with just a little code edit, instead of dealing with the dope sheet, which can be a little cumbersome. I thought there might be a neat pyth...

camera following object issue

hi, i'm trying to make a camera "free fall" First i tried sticking a simulation tag to the camera, but it didn't work, so i stuck the tag to an object (in this case a cube), and then used xpresso to make the camera's position match the cube's position. that worked, until i tried to add a f...

make objects collide in editor

i think this might be a really basic thing, but i can't come up with the search terms for it, or even if is a thing. is there a way to have objects collide each other while editing, like, if i'm moving an object and try to move it through another one, it would just "press" against it, as i...

python or coffee script

HI, i'm trying to write a script that changes an object's visibility depending on which frame the animation is on, so i thought i may use a scripting tag attached to each object, and rename each object to the frame they should turn on and use a higher/equal comparison between the object name and the...
