A fun project in my spare time. I got the idea thanks to a speedmodel contest on c4dlounge.eu, where the subject was ‘alien’.

The model itself took less then 3 hours, and about an hour to fix the textures. The stars and sky were made using photoshop.

@ visualtricks: I was thinking of cleaning up that reflection of the dome, but if I would remove those reflection, it wouldn't be obvious anymore what it is, so that's why I left it like this. The seem on the wood is indeed very lame, I'll fix that!

I had to make a tests creating a cheese-like material, so here's what came out that 'test'. =)

Cheese was tricky, with sss and fresnel and such, but really fun to make!
