Applying a material to Easy Net objects

I'm using the Easy Net 2.0 plug in and have created various nets using splines. This is probably a newb question, but how do you apply a material to these objects so that you can actually render them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the easy net is basically a spline object so you have to sweep it to make it a polygon object
