How to Seamlessly Cover Extruded Spline with Square Pattern in C4D?

Messaggio da parvizbayram »

I've imported a spline from Adobe Illustrator and extruded it in Cinema 4D. Now, I'm trying to apply a technological square pattern (like in the attached photo) to cover the entire shape seamlessly, not just the upper side. However, I'm only able to cover the top, while the sides remain uncovered.

I've tried using the Cloner in Object mode, but it seems to distribute the pattern randomly. What I need is for the square pattern to wrap around all sides of the extruded spline in a uniform, seamless way. Any advice on how to achieve this?

Argh, it's very hard to achieve this kind of covering...the only way to cover the whole object on top, filled edges, extruded zone and bottom area is to have a perfect UV unwrapped otherwise the cloner is unable to understand how cover the object.
In the same way you texturing an object, if you want to cover the edges of an object you need to unwrap the UV mapping. In this way Cinema4D knows the direction of the texture.
Mograph do the same...
